British Sign Language (BSL) Courses for Schools

We are delighted to offer specialised British Sign Language (BSL) courses designed for children and young adults, tailored to be delivered directly at your school. These courses provide students with the invaluable opportunity to learn a new language, promote inclusivity, and develop communication skills that can be used throughout their lives.
What Will Students Learn?
Basic BSL Vocabulary: Students will learn essential signs that are used in everyday communication, building a strong foundation in BSL.
Simple BSL Conversations: The course will enable students to participate in basic conversations, helping them to develop practical communication skills.
Understanding and Following Conversations: Students will gain confidence in following and understanding simple conversations in BSL, enhancing their listening and comprehension abilities.
Creating Their Own BSL Conversations: The course will empower students to initiate and maintain their own conversations in BSL, using the vocabulary and skills they have learned.
Course Duration
Our BSL courses are highly flexible and can be tailored to suit the needs of your school. The course duration can range from 1 to 2 hours per week, with the overall length of the program varying from a few weeks up to 30 weeks, depending on your requirements.
For students aged 12 and over, there is also the opportunity to achieve one or two units, or even the full BSL qualification, through Signature, the leading awarding body for British Sign Language qualifications.
