What will I learn?
Our BSL Level 1 course is designed to introduce you to the basics of BSL. You will learn fundamental vocabulary and sentence structures, enabling you to communicate simple instructions and engage in basic conversations.
Course Locations
Our BSL Level 1 course is flexible, offering both online and in-person learning options. Choose the mode that suits you best:
- Online: Learn from the comfort of your home with our interactive online platform.
- In-Person: Join us at one of our convenient locations in East Sussex, Kent, or other parts of the South East.
Course Duration
The BSL Level 1 course spans approximately 30 weeks, providing ample time to practice and master the basics of BSL.
Assessment and Certification
Your progress will be assessed through three 1:1 conversational assessments, each lasting about 5 minutes. These assessments will evaluate your ability to use BSL in practical situations. Upon passing all assessments, you will receive a certificate from Signature, recognising your achievement.
Fees and Payment Options
The all-inclusive fee for the BSL Level 1 course is £440. We understand that upfront payment might be challenging for some, so we offer flexible payment plans to help you manage the cost in instalments.
The course is divided into three key units:
Introduction to BSL
Start with the essentials, learning the alphabet, numbers, and basic phrases.
Conversational BSL
Build your conversational skills, learning how to introduce yourself, ask questions, and respond appropriately.
Communicate in BSL about Everyday Life
Apply your skills to everyday scenarios, discussing topics such as weather, hobbies, and daily activities.
